Ffos Caerffili opens to the public

Ffos Caerffili – Caerphilly’s own shipping container-style market – has opened. The new site is filled with independent traders and food vendors including:

• Castle Tackle & Bait
• Upmarket Butchers Surf and Turf
• Joe’s Plant Place 
• The Circular Studio 
• Joy House Creations 
• Bab Haus 
• ACME Burger 
• Bao Selecta 
• Estraneo 
• Keralan Karavan (monthly pop up)
• Doughnutters

The opening of the market indicates the first stage of the Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan, with funding support from the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Initiative and the European Regional Development Fund. 

The scheme has also been supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda.

It opened to the public on Friday April 5th, with launch celebrations happening across the weekend.

Ffos Caerffili can be found opposite the castle on Park Lane, behind the main street, Cardiff Road. 

Caerphilly Councillor, Jamie Pritchard, said: “We really hope Ffos Caerffili will be a place that residents enjoy and visit many times over. A good mix of businesses and a positive, friendly vibe this morning. All the best to the traders!”
