CAERPHILLY CULTURAL CENTRE

Project status:

Planning

Caerphilly Cultural Centre is a new Community Social Enterprise project that’s part of the Caerphilly 2035 Masterplan, in partnership with Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall. We are embarking on creating a vibrant Cultural Centre in the heart of our town! This dynamic hub aims to foster culture and creativity, celebrating the Welsh language, collective endeavour, and the town’s unique creativity.

Our dream is to have a centre that’s free to enter, is engaging to the general public, that signposts to what’s going on both in Caerphilly town centre and the rest of the surrounding area. Our ideal space accommodates a 500-seat performance hall, possibly including one or even two cinemas, alongside versatile areas designed for cultural events, food and drink, production space and diverse activities. This space would allow Caerphilly to attract more festivals and conferences, which in turn would help showcase what we have to offer and inspire our younger generations into the creative industries.

Our Objectives:

  • Ignite a passion for creative self-expression
  • Share knowledge and skills in English and Welsh
  • Offer diverse creative programmes at the heart of Caerphilly

Following many conversations, there is overwhelming support for the development of the centre, and we would love your input by filling out a survey here to capture your thoughts.

The full project is planned to be delivered for 2028.
