As part of the ongoing public realm improvements across the town centre, the much-loved Windsor Square and Stockland Square have been redeveloped.
Originally built in the late 1990s, these two squares form an important link between nearby residential streets and Cardiff Road — one of Caerffili’s main retail destinations.
The upgrades have breathed new life into both spaces, introducing more greenery, additional seating, and improved bin facilities to create a more welcoming and functional social space.

The ‘Jackdaws of Caerphilly’ and ‘Gossiping Geese’ bronze works on Windsor Square and Stockland Square were created by artist Julie Westerman as part of wider Caerphilly town redevelopment work in the late 1990s.
Designed to be an area of calm for residents in the town centre, the rejuvenation of these squares will ensure this space continues to remain a focal point of Caerphilly Town.
